It belongs to the cover type parts, and it mainly connects other parts and plays the role of support and sealing fastening. Ensure that the oil pump works normally and does not leak oil and does not tooth the gear. The pump cover is made of castings, and the end face of the pump cover and the pump body must have higher precision requirements. The three-dimensional data of the pump cover should be scanned for secondary design.

1. Preparations in the early stage

     Spraying the developer: Improve the background color contrast of the sample surface for better scan data.

     Paste mark points: The acquired data is positioned and stitched in the scanning software.

The 3D scanner 3DS+ scan speed is fast, it takes only 15 minutes to obtain the 3D data of the pump cover, and the data precision is high. 3D scanner 3DS+ uses extrapolation multi-frequency phase shift grating technology, code point calibration technology and fully automatic splicing technology. The pump cover scan data is imported into the three-dimensional reverse software (Geomagic) for processing, and the processed data is imported into mainstream design software such as Pro/E and UG to perform reverse design of the pump cover.
